Through events, education, and public forums, Governor Bob Holden is at work involving communities, students, policy leaders, businesses, and investors to think differently about how the central United States engages with the world. Following a career in public service spanning more than 25years—culminating in eight years as Missouri State Treasurer(1993-2001) and four years as Governor (2001-2005), Bob Holden is now a private sector leader in the fields of international economic development and education.
As Governor, Bob Holden demonstrated his commitment to domestic and international economic development. During his administration, Missouri ranked among the top 10 states in job creation. He led successful delegations to Japan, Italy, Mexico, and China and established Missouri’s trade development office in Shanghai. Since leaving office, he has traveled frequently to China to speak and promote economic ties. While Governor, Holden served as chairman of the Midwest Governors’ Association, and chaired the Southern Governors’ Association TeleHealth Committee. He remains active in the National Governor’s Association.
