The primary objectives and purposes of the foundation are:

- To provide charitable service, support and funding for international
community development and educational programs;
- To provide opportunities for people from international communities
to learn more about themselves and other cultures through means of
volunteering (service-based learning);
- To develop and support programs to promote international learning and
cooperation, and to foster personal and worldwide peace;

Casa Milagro Foundation supports various programs and projects in Costa Rica
through administrative support, funding, and volunteer management. Casa Milagro
is different from other foundations as we are not a grant-making organization
but instead operate under a theory of change model, which believes in strong
partnerships with communities, programs, and other organizations rather than
solely providing funding support. It is through our integral voluntourism program,
Tropical Adventures, that we are able to fund and assist many of our programs and
projects throughout the country. As Casa Milagro has been able to grow through
this sector of the organization, new programs are being developed to meet gaps in
the areas of community development and environmental conservation.
