Description:

Program interns should be travel-savvy individuals with excellent communication and people skills. Interns will be responsible for helping to recruit doctors and hospitals willing to donate their services. This will involve matching the specialty of the doctor with the illness of a child; communicating with medical professionals through letters, phone calls, and emails; and updating and maintaining the database. Program Interns will assist in database / financial management, booking travel arrangements for children coming to the United States, filing and copying, and writing thank you notes to volunteers assisting in all aspects of Childspring operations. Other possible opportunities include airport trips to pick up arriving children and representing Childspring at doctor’s appointments and hospital visits.

Qualifications:

Interns should have excellent writing skills and should be familiar with Microsoft Office software.

Interns for the fall will ideally work from January 5th through April 10th, 2010. Interns are expected to give a minimum of 25-30 hours per week. The specific days and hours an intern works per week will be arranged according to the intern’s schedule as well as the schedules of the Childspring staff. Interns will receive a stipend up to $500.00.
