Education and Support Intern

a. logistical planning of grassroot community events (with post follow up)
b. program planning and development for patient education
c. program planning and development for camp oasis
d. volunteer management and recruitment
e. patient support group management
f. implementation of marketing strategies for events
g. program development and promotion for continuing medical education
symposium (CME)
h. program evaluation
i. social marketing (facebook, blogs and twitter)
j. health promotion program planning through chapter e-newsletter
k. advocacy

Qualifications:

Internship Requirements

1) Semester before graduating with a Bachelors or Masters degree in community health, public health, health education or similar majors.
2) Commitment to a 20 hour work week over 15 weeks (schedule is flexible)
3) Enjoy interacting with people in person and on the phone
4) Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
5) Ability to lift 25 pounds repeatedly
6) Experience with Microsoft Office and web-savvy
7) Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of assignments
8) Attention to detail and accountability
9) Currently enrolled as a undergraduate or graduate student

Hours:

20 hours per week

After being pre-selected you will additionally need to provide:

1) Two letters of recommendation from faculty
2) Official school transcript
3) Background check through CCFA National Headquarters

Once accepted, the interns start and end dates will be determined. The intern will collaborate with the faculty advisor and Education and Support Manager on goals and objectives to be met by the end of the internship period.
