Description:

La Peņa Cultural Center now accepting applications for spring internships.

Event production interns will work to develop a project of their own, which will result in an event that is held at La Peņa. They will research communities to target their event to, define the project, develop an organized plan, and finally produce an event. The event will be geared toward a college audience. We welcome new and creative ideas!

Duties:

- Plan and map out an event that will be targeted toward a college audience (it can be a concert, jam night, spoken word - anything along those lines)

- Research and establish target communities that the event will be geared toward

- Establish a marketing plan unique to your event and develop a promotional campaign

Internships are 10-15 hours per week, from late January to mid May. Dates and hours are flexible. We will work with your schedule. Credit for internships can sometimes be arranged.La Peņa serves as a concert venue, arts education center, and gathering space. Attracting music lovers, activists, and the culturally diverse, we encourage all students who might be interested to apply for a spring internship.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

- 2 years college or equivalent community experience

- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team

- Interest in music, dance, arts education, event production and promotion

- Computer and web savvy including MS Office, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets

- Be creative and have strong written and oral communication skills

- Strong people skills

- Previous experience in event promotion/street teams/or volunteering for performing arts centers a plus

This position is 10-15 hours per week, from late January to mid May. Dates and hours are flexible. We will work with your schedule. Credit for internships can sometimes be arranged.
