The Baum Foundation was established as a public charity in March 2003, working to improve the human condition. At the heart of The Baum Foundation’s mission is the idea that, by supporting creativity in the arts, providing educational opportunities for youth and putting programs in place to preserve the environment, we can collectively enrich the quality of life of contemporary society and the planet.
The Baum Foundation Internship Program exposes an individual to a nonprofit setting, allowing them to develop and strengthen personal and professional skills in an exciting work environment. The Baum Foundation’s interns will gain valuable experience and exposure to program development as they work on essential projects to support and maintain The Baum Foundation’s high level of commitment to a diverse set of programs. From this experience, the candidate will be uniquely positioned to take their next step toward building a successful career and becoming a responsible community leader.

Objectives

The Intern Program’s objectives are to present individuals with the opportunity to:
• Learn first-hand how a nonprofit operates
• Gain valuable new experiences and skills in the arts, environment, and education
• Offer The Baum Foundation feedback from a fresh perspective
• Explore personal interests through exposure to a wide range of topics

Potential Duties

Potential duties of an intern or volunteer may consist of:
• Marketing and promotion of programs
• Fundraising and development support
• Administrative projects and other responsibilities as necessary
• Program research

Qualifications Desired

• Ability to communicate clearly, both in person and in writing
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks on a deadline
• Computer systems experience including database management, spreadsheet knowledge, and proficient word processing skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently in a team environment
