Job Title: Communications Manager

Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 5-12 hours weekly to be agreed
Commitment: 9 months minimum
Pay: Unpaid Internship. Agreed expenses paid.

Language: Spoken and written fluency in English

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
Extremely Trustworthy
Exceptional written and verbal communication
Some social media experience
Some web development experience
Learner
Attention to detail
Problem solver
Disciplined independent worker
Technologically savvy with significant computer experience (e.g. word, excel, email programs, etc.)
Very basic graphic design skills
Ability to manage others

What Young Peacebuilders (YP) Does: Critical Partnerships & Research
YP develops partnerships nurturing peacebuilding passion and skill in children and youth in contexts impacted by or at high risk of armed conflict. These partnerships also research the impact of their efforts. In this way YP helps prevent and end cycles of violence. We also help design effective child and youth peacebuilding projects and research for others.
We want to see a major shift in the dominant method of addressing contemporary conflicts toward investing in young people as peacebuilders.

Responsibilities
Help develop, implement, and monitor the YP communications strategy; manage others supporting strategy
Produce a YP Newsletter every 2-3 months; coordinate development of content, edit, and increase list size
Expand YP social media reach and influence including use of: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, & website
Develop, manage, and regularly update YP website
Assist with following up with and thanking donors
Help produce and/edit other YP communications tools and proposals
Find the best child/youth peacebuilding related articles, research, events, example projects, etc. to share
Assisting with communications; responding to inquiries & prioritizing responses
