Description:

The Center for Information Therapy (IxCenter) is offering an internship to a student or young professional who wishes to assist in the preparation of a two-day Heath Information Technology conference in Boston, M.A, April 22-23, 2009 This position offers a challenging experience to an individual interested in gaining valuable planning skills in conference management within the healthcare field.

Responsibilities include:

-Updating and organizing database information
-Creating press releases and other publicity documents
-Creating Onsite Signage
-Collecting and handling responses
-Help with set-up, guest directions, and other logistics during the meeting (June 12-13)
-Other administrative duties as needed

Qualifications:

· Obtained/studying towards BA or MA in communications, business, hospitality management, Healthcare Managements, or related fields
· Experience in planning and implementing events
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Highly organized, with attention to detail and accuracy
· High computer proficiency, including database experience
· Solid research skills, including capacity to use the Internet as an effective research tool
· Performance under pressure and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
· Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends
· Previous event planning and/or on-site management experience is a plus.
