Description:

Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in design, marketing and social media tasks, as well as to make a difference by brainstorming on, developing and implementing innovative marketing efforts, unique gift product ideas and more. Unpaid position, with rewards for great work and successful marketing efforts. Future collaboration or employment may be an option. Weekly opportunity to ask designer for feedback on school design projects. Very versatile position, with opportunity to learn a lot, and to make a difference if you are a creative thinker.

Work load can be flexible, between 2 and 15 hours a week, at flexible times. Virtual position.

ASSIGNMENTS MAY INCLUDE:
Not all tasks are mandatory - owner will consider your skills and interest. However, you should be eager to learn and help, and interested in about 70% of the following:

GRAPHIC DESIGN
• Designing mood boards in photoshop for website news section and blog posts
• Designing promotional materials for company, according to existing guidelines

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH
• Researching new production methods, materials, resources, techniques
• Brainstorming and collaborating on new design items such as decor items / new keepsake ideas / unique guest Favors / innovative marketing or packaging elements...

WEB UPDATES
• Update etsy shop listings
• Updating content on website and blog (wordpress, only basic web knowledge necessary)
• Updating newsletter template with texts and images, preparing for mail-out

EMAILS
• Some emailing, for example with bloggers about blog link swaps or blogging about each other

MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA
• Writing blog posts, a bit of facebook, twitter and pinterest
• Brainstorming sessions with owner about creative marketing/social media strategies, assistance in implementation
• Assistance and collaboration in planning company promotional event(s)

CUSTOMER PROJECTS
• Assisting with brand design and wedding stationery design projects for customers
• Assisting with market research or design research
• Occasional assistance with illustrations, in adobe illustrator, photoshop

Additional tasks may be offered, based on availability and interest

Qualifications:

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Fluent in basic photoshop usage (create layouts, work with layers, typography, apply easy filters, create paths and masks…), basic adobe illustrator usage, office programs (word, excel)
• Interest and love for graphic design and eye for detail
• Some experience in using social media, blogging, updating (wordpress)
• Communicate in a professional, positive, effective manner

REQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
• Positive, can-do attitude, eager to learn
• Solution-oriented, open to think outside the box
• Independent worker, open to work over distance with only skype/calls and emails as means of communication
• Detail oriented, striving for perfection, reliable

• Interested in designing for female customers and modern wedding industry

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
• Internet access
• Own computer with legally licensed design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Office Suite)
• Recommended: graphic tablet
• Skype account
