Description:

The Public Relations Intern will primarily be working on developing and implementing strategic plans to build awareness and traffic for StyleSynch. This is a primarily telecommute unpaid project for those who want to gain experience in public relations, entrepreneurship, marketing, retail and the internet space.

The Public Relations Intern will work on creating a publicity strategy under the following heads:
• Developing a deep understanding of our company, products, positioning, target consumers, competitors, etc.
• Outlining strategies for capturing visitors to the website and raising awareness of StyleSynch initiatives
• Identifying and targeting media partners
• Creating and executing on press releases, emails, blog entries and other forms of communication relevant to particular StyleSynch initiatives
• Managing PR partnerships and working closely with StyleSynch marketing team
• Monitoring of and reporting on results of PR activities

The deliverables include creating public relations strategy documents, implementation of PR strategies, Results Document at end of internship.

Qualifications:

• At least 2-3 years of in-school experience or 1 year in the workplace in public relations and/or marketing
• Ability to work in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment with incomplete information and tight budgets
• Eager to operate from the highest strategic levels to the operational “roll-up-your-sleeves-hands-on” work
• A “do whatever it takes” attitude
• Creativity and deep interest in innovative online marketing
• Must have computer, internet access, Microsoft Office products or comparables, and phone/phone plan
• Must be able to attend weekly meeting in San Diego and/or in conference calls (note: no work/calls are required that conflict with school schedules)
