Description:

Cancer Research UK is the worlds leading independent organization dedicated to cancer research. They support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,500 scientists, doctors and nurses. They produce information for audiences including cancer patients and their families, the general public and health professionals. Cancer Research UK also work with the UK government to make sure that cancer stays at the top of the health agenda.

The internship is with the Finance Analysis and Projects Team which manages a portfolio of initiatives tied to our strategic objectives. These projects usually involve process improvement, internal controls enhancement and communication facilitation.

Manage projects from our portfolio and support initiatives. Likely projects are the following:

* Collation and analysis of data from the results of an internal customer satisfaction survey.
* Co-ordinating updates to process maps and procedure notes for the Accounts Payable and Income Processing teams, using Visio software.

Lead meetings and help to plan projects using our project management framework.

Work collaboratively with various parts of Finance and CR-UK to improve the service provided by Finance.

Qualifications:

* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
* Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal stakeholders and customers
* Confidence in using PC applications including Microsoft Office
* The ability to think strategically and approach situations with a fresh perspective, challenging the status quo
* Excellent organizational skills and self-motivation
* The ability to be flexible as circumstances change
* An interest in project management, process improvement and financial issues
