DEFINITION
Daisy Rock Girl Guitars/Alfred Music Publishing -Consumer Marketing department is offering internships to students for academic credit only. NON-PAID

The Consumer Marketing division of Daisy Rock is responsible for promoting Daisy Rock products to guitarists and bassists who are interested in learning, teaching, or playing music.

This position is ideal for someone looking to explore the advertising/marketing/promotion side of the music products industry. Internship may be done during fall or spring semesters. We offer a casual dress but professional office environment where interns are truly taught how the leading maker of guitars designed for girls works.

The exact schedule is arranged between the intern and the supervisor to accommodate the interns class schedule. Casual dress in office. Daisy Rock is located near the 405 Frwy. on Roscoe Blvd. in Van Nuys, California.

Deadline for spring semester 2011 is December 10, 2010.

CORE DUTIES
Areas of learning will include these activities:

· Assist with social networking initiatives. Help keep Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and YouTube pages up to date, as well as grow and expand networks

· Assist with writing and distributing artist and promotional press releases

· Create a target list of blogs, forums, magazines, and potential partners for promotional and advertising purposes

· Check Daisy Rock sponsors and endorsed artists to ensure they are promoting accordingly

· Update Daisy Rock calendar with artist tour dates and Daisy Rock events/promotions

· Update photo albums on daisyrock.com with appropriate material

· Assist with creating promotional banners for daisyrock.com

· Assist with sending Daisy Rock catalogs requests and updating Daisy Rock mailing list

· Assist with compiling news items for artist newsletters

· Assist Artist Relations Coordinator with scouting new talent

Qualifications:

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS
· Interest in a career in the music business

· Knowledge of popular music culture

· Familiar with all social networking sites and popular music magazines/blogs/sites

· Basic html and Photoshop
