Education: Master’s degree
Salary: $20/hour
Hours: 20-30 hours per week, depending on schedule
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: June 30, 2011 (may be extended depending on budget)

The California Public Utilities Commission seeks an intern to help research, develop, and implement several organizational development initiatives through our Human Resources office. This is an excellent opportunity to get immediately involved in these high profile initiatives that will have a huge impact on our organization.

Duties:
Under direction from Human Resources staff, the intern will be responsible for:
• Researching subject areas
• Analyzing data sets to help determine content and priorities
• Assisting in the development of project plans
• Helping to establish metrics to measure success and inform improvements
• Developing written content for program guides in these subject areas
• Presenting components, guides and progress to program team members both locally and to team members/sponsors in our SF Headquarters
• Launching pilot programs and rolling out completed programs
• Developing surveys to validate content and inform improvements

Qualifications:

Candidates must be enrolled in a Masters program in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field.

Candidates must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credit hours of graduate coursework. This coursework can include enrollment in thesis study.

Candidates must be able to write effectively, have excellent analytical and time management skills, and be able to use a variety of software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point). Use of Microsoft Visio, Project or other presentation/graphics programs is desirable. Candidates must possess excellent oral communication skills.
