HitFix is seeking a hard-core entertainment fan to help us maintain and improve our localized event calendar. This will involve staying abreast of entertainment events and entering them into our calendar. Specifically this will involve finding, editing and uploading photos into the event calendar and writing short descriptions for some events.

Candidates should have a working understanding of Photoshop and strong writing abilities. In addition to work on the Event Calendar, other responsibilities will include occasional research, assisting on special projects and investigating new ways to market and expand HitFix.  

This is a telecommuting job, but will require periodic meetings in the East Bay with a supervisor and other interns. 

Responsibilities

• Finding, resizing and uploading photos to the HitFix Event Calendar
• Writing short descriptions of selected events
• Periodic review of HitFix.com and its competitors
• Investigating new ways to market or expand HitFix
• Assisting on special projects.

Qualifications:

• Excellent copywriting, creative thinking/writing skills.
• Must be passionate and knowledgeable about movies, music and TV.
• A personal computer with a basic version of Photoshop (e.g. Elements or CS5).
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop (crop, resize etc.).
• Web savvy and experienced with social networking sites (Facebook, YouTube, FourSquare, Twitter)
• Self-starter and ability to work independently or with little supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

unpaid with $500 potential bonus
