Description:

The Android Mobile Application Intern will work closely with the company’s Development Director on the designing and developing of the company’s mobile applications. Intern will receive hands on exposure to the latest Android technologies and Internet infrastructure. Hours are flexible and can be accommodated around student’s school schedule.

Qualifications:

* Comfortable with Windows/Linux, Android smart phones and emulators
* Familiarity with Android OS, Java, LiteSQL, TortoiseSVN, HTTP POST/GET, Eclipse IDE
* Good communication and writing skills
* Interest in developing mobile applications

Students will learn:

Android Application Technologies
o Planning and designing a real world mobile application architecture for Android smartphones
o Implementing mobile applications with image processing and data querying
o The Model-View-Controller application architecture
o The different components that make up a Internet Mobile Application architecture (web service, data access layer, presentation layer, business logic layer, etc.) and get exposed to some of those technologies

Web Technologies
o The interaction between the Internet Web Services and mobile phone applications (such as uploading images from cell phone to web servers, or retrieving images from server to phone)
o Consuming .NET/Servlet web services through HTTP
Quality Assurance
o Design and perform unit and component testing
o Troubleshooting and Optimizing Android Java components
