Event Planning/Special Projects Intern
The Event Planning/Special Projects Intern is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination and execution of bi-monthly BXX events, industry forums, partnership events, and all special projects. This position requires a candidate who is articulate, self-motivated, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, outgoing, and who possesses strong interpersonal skills. Position is non-paid, but candidates can receive college credit with university approval.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):
Coordinate and plan Annual Event Calendar
Develop, organize, and coordinate bi-monthly BXX events and forums
Manage online communications and efforts to advertise and market events and special projects
Coordinate outreach within both the BXX community and the beauty/fashion industry in efforts to promote events, projects, and BXX network activity
Develop and implement marketing strategies for all BXX events and special projects
Identify and develop relationships with potential partner and sponsor organizations
Monitor and manage event logistics to optimize the guest experience during live BXX events
Create collateral and presentation material for potential sponsors and partner organizations
Secure and coordinate sponsor/partner participation and activity relating to BXX events and special projects
Develop and manage BXX network contests and giveaways
Monitor and manage BXX contact database
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong organizational, verbal and written skills
Keen attention to detail
Great “people” skills
Sales experience, preferred but not mandatory
Knowledge of social networking sites, like Facebook and Twitter
Proficient computer skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to receive and follow-through on direction and assignmentCREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:
Pursuing a degree in marketing, business, communications, journalism, PR or related field. Also open to candidates studying in any area of fashion and/or beauty. Please include college status and GPA.
Advanced proofreading and editing ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be friendly, organized, and honest with a strong work ethic
Working proficiency in Microsoft/Apple Office programs, online search engines, and web-based applications
Must own a laptop
