Description:

Sharingpet is looking for interns with strong writing skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with the world of pets. We are an online platform that is working to revolutionize the pet industry by promoting and providing virtual adoptions and other online tools to save homeless animals, raise awareness, and inform people how they can be a part of a solution to save animal lives.

Qualifications:

* Excellent grammar,writing, and communications skills.
* Good editorial judgment (especially for spotting missing details) and ability to work independently.
* Ability to conduct repetitive tasks quickly.
* A keen interest in pets; active participation with animal rescue groups or shelters a plus.
* Excellent computer skills and knowledge in social media tools.

Hours:

12-24 hours per week

Responsibilities (partial list)
* Update event listings and manage the blog -- including but not limited to writing about the ‘dog of the week’, ‘virtual Non-profit of the month’, and helping with newsletter production.
* Promote media coverage by researching industry calendars, new cause media tools, technology reviews, etc.
* Acquire photo permits and permission to edit images for event postings.
* Assist and encourage participation of animal rescue groups in the San Francisco area.

Sharingpet welcomes interns with interests in pets -- especially those with a background in animal shelters or rescues. There are approximately 1,440 animal organizations in California and more than 22,700 throughout the US that we will be trying to help. With your contributions, we want to maximize our coverage of pet related events around your area.
