Description:
Meals On Wheels of San Francisco (MOWSF) seeks exceptional candidates to serve as Interns the Development Department. Interns have an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the breadth of non-profit development work, and learn from an outstanding and experienced team. Our Development Department has robust fundraising programs in a range of areas, including special events, individual giving (major donor and direct mail campaigns), foundation and corporate grants, and workplace giving. We also have well-established connections with restaurants, wineries, and hospitality partners throughout San Francisco and the greater Bay Area and these partners play an important role in MOWSF’s development efforts.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage research projects in conjunction with Development department initiatives, including major donor campaign, workplace giving, beneficiary events, and individual donor cultivation
• Support Special Events Manager with event planning and production
• Manage projects to improve data tracking and accessibility within Department
• Support coordination with Volunteer Department
• Other projects as assigned to support the operations and initiatives of the Department
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:• Research skills, including the resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities to work through challenges in complex projects.
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong desire to seek and receive feedback.
• Hardworking, high energy, positive attitude.
• Interest in non-profit sector and the mission of MOWSF
• Strong skills in Excel
• Having a car is desirable as MOWSF is located in the Bayview district and it is a significant commute to take public transportation from most neighborhoods in San Francisco

JOB SCHEDULE:
• Late Summer/Fall, 2012
• Must be able to work 2-3 weekdays in our Bayview neighborhood office.

• Hours can be flexible within normal business hours of 8:30 a.m.—4:30 p.m.
• Up to full-time hours are available
