Looking for a number of interns to learn the various aspects of planning a large Fashion Show event called Fashion Minga. Fashion Minga is the last day of LA Fashion Week; Thursday, October 18, 2012. This is a 4-Month unpaid internship.Looking for assistance in the following areas:
* PR, Marketing & Research
Looking for an intern who would like to learn the interworkings of entertainment and fashion PR in addition to an applied behind the scenes look at how a fashion show is produced.Fashion Minga is a collaboration of designers, performers, and tastemakers coming together to celebrate the various components that inspire fashion: music, dance, color, shape and visual elements. Minga is an Ecuadorian term for a community coming together to work for the benefit of all. The debut of Fashion Minga took place during the last day of LAs prestigious Fashion Week: Friday, October 16, 2009. Fashion Minga welcomes over 2,000 guests, showcases up-and-coming designers, features the industrys hottest dance teams/performers, attracts numerous celebrities, generates top revenue numbers for Boulevard3; our host venue, and is covered by various media outlets.
Qualifications:
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
* Outgoing personality
* Take charge attitude; does not need to be micro-managed and can work independently.
* Able to take direction well
* Thick-skinned
*Good phone etiquette; not afraid to interface with various personalities: Agents & Managers, Publicists, Designers, Entrepreneurs etc.
* Strong communicator (ie: writing emails, responding to inquiries etc.)
* Avid researcher
* Multi-tasker
* Creative thinker
* Hard-worker; willing to go the extra mile
* Proficient in: Power Point, Photo-Shop, Illustrator (Graphic Designer)
* Positive demeanorREQUIREMENTS:

Available to start immediately
Must be able to commit to a minimum of 3 half days each week (during business hours)
3-5 Month Internship
Mandatory: MUST have a cell phone and laptop (note: cell phone plan needs to have unlimited minutes).
Must be 21 years of age (the venue where our event is held is a strictly 21 Establishment).
Need to have a working knowledge of Excel (you will be given a short excel test).
Reliable transportationSalary: Salary: Upon successful completion of the 12-week internship, all participants will receive a recommendation letter which you can use for school and/or work endeavors.
