The Political Intern position is a part time employment opportunity to assist in a variety of ways including the fundraising, disbursement strategy, compliance, election analysis and targeted communication aspects of the Bridgepoint Education, Inc. Political Action Committee (BridgePAC). Opportunities also expand into helping grassroots and Capitol Hill Day initiatives, get out the vote efforts, as well as logistics for facility congressional meet and greets, and other events.
Essential Job Duties:
• Website updates, writing/proofing newsletter articles/support PAC membership rewards/recognition efforts
• Maintain budgets, follow races/polling/election analysis
• Logistics for grassroots and event effortsAdditional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
• Work with United Way on PAC Match efforts
• Develop excel lists/disseminate packages to PAC members
• Help with get out the vote efforts to employees and students
• Maintain access database/update ppt presentations

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, Power Point
• Comfortable with numbers
• Grasp on social media outletsEducation:
• Achieved or working to achieve Bachelors degree, preferably but not required, in the area of Political Science

Physical Requirements:
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms and talk or hear. Communication Skills: While performing Duties of the job, the employee is required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. The employee requires the ability to write effective and detailed correspondence and to effectively present information both in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mental Demands: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to deal with stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multiple priorities/tasks. The employee will be required to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various personalities at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
