Travel and Tourism Intern
Description:
Assist in creating marketing materials, including writing weekly email newsletters to both partners and consumers. Update social media channels. Assist in creating online banner ads. Assist in updating VisitMammoth.com and associated company websites. Additional duties include coordinating and attending trade shows; editing and compilation of information for annual visitor guide and vacation planner; coordinating giveaways and fulfillment; and representing Mammoth Lakes Tourism at various community events and/meetings.
Looking for someone driven, organized, responsible, resourceful, meticulous, approachable, professional and someone who is a team player. Must be highly motivated with a positive attitude and good work ethic.Looking for someone to assist with marketing and PR both online and off, including with print campaigns in major publications, interactive campaigns , and trade shows.
Daily duties also include answering the phones, receipt reconciliation, fulfilling online store orders and requests for visitor guides, and updating listing information on the company’s websites.
Qualifications:
Enrollment in a accredited four-year college or university. Tourism and recreation, communications, marketing, business and/or related major preferred.
Candidate will need a good eye for design and layout.
Excellent written, communication and customer service skills.
Detail oriented with editing and proofreading skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills with demonstrated experience effectively managing multiples projects or initiatives.
Multi-lingual a plus, but not a requirement.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Some local and regional travel may be required
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Must be able to lift 50 lbsAble to work days, nights, week-ends, and holidays to meet deadlines, event and/or travel commitments.
