SparkPoint Business Development Internship
12-15 hours/wk
Jump into a fast-moving, energetic team playing a crucial branding and marketing role. SparkPoint, Inc. is a full-service marketing and public relations agency located in the Silicon Valley that works with various clients across the country. While excelling in the fields of marketing and public relations, SparkPoint, Inc. is on the brink of a new venture� that is where you come in.
We are seeking a high-performer to bolster our new division; someone that is not afraid of working hard or trying new things. We need a passionate, go-getter who can contribute skills to further our success and meet the challenges of a start-up. This position will provide strong hands-on experience with what it takes to develop a product, strategize implementation, and bring it to launch. You will work closely with the founding members of SparkPoint and get the opportunity to influence the direction of the new product through involvement in client meetings, major brainstorming sessions, and crucial decisions.
Responsibilities include:
� Work with the management team to develop and implement organizational strategies, policies and practices that contribute to long-term operational excellence.
� Contribute to a team environment, but take on responsibility individually.
� Network, communicate and build partnerships with coworkers and clients.
� Be creative; work independently and efficiently; and see tasks through to completion.
� All other duties as assigned to assist in any capacity of SparkPoint.

Qualifications:

Requirements:
� Business/operational experience
� Strong written and oral skills
� Web and Graphic Design a plus, including knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop
� Programming is a plus, including knowledge of HTML/CSS as well as other venues for web development, including Wordpress, Tumblr, and Wix. Although you will not be coding, knowledge of web development is helpful for brainstorming and business planning.
� Must be business savvy. We strive to make businesses successful and we want you to understand our solid business decisions as well as speak up when you question them.
� Must have an understanding of the social media arena. We are looking to grow with a lot of help from Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and other social media.
� Must be passionate about learning. We cannot stress this enough. We love education and only want to work with others who feel similarly (most of our clients are in the education field).

Many internships are good for school credit and we will work with your school to provide any data and reporting so that you get credit for your time with us. This internship is non-paid yet a continued partnership or employment opportunity after your internship is completed will be open for discussion.
