Company/Organization: The Center for Asian American Media

Description:

The Center for Asian American Media seeks skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to assist with the planning and production of CAAMFest (formerly the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival), which takes place mid-March, 2014. The internship consists of project-oriented tasks such as film research, database management, event planning, marketing, outreach, and archival work. These are part-time and unpaid positions (college credit may be available). Scheduling is flexible. The internship is best suited for a person willing to share and gain skills in the arenas of film programming, event planning, data management, and non-profit arts administration, with a sincere interest in Asian American and Asian media arts.

Qualifications:

Detail-oriented and team player
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and research skills
Familiarity with Mac-based programs including Filemaker Pro, Excel, and Word
Experience with graphic/design software including: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Web/Internet savvy: advance searching, social networking applications
Works well independently in a small office environment as well as in public arenas
Desire to learn about media arts organizing
Knowledge or interest in Asian American independent media preferred

10-15/week

Internships offer excellent opportunities to experience and participate in an exciting
film and cultural event. Interns will get hands-on experience with festival planning and implementation, as well as gain exposure to the Asian American arts community.
