Description:
We are looking for interns who are studying marketing and would like to apply their studies to real life marketing with Girls in Power. Intern responsibilities include assisting with securing donations and sponsors, and promoting upcoming events.Will be asked to: correspond via e-mail, phone, etc., to possible sponsors and set up meetings with them and the founder of GIP; research sponsor opportunities in the local community and useful networking events for the promotion of the organization; aid in the promotion of events as well as the organization in general.
Qualifications:
Knowledge: currently studying or planning to study marketing, public relations, and/or communications; knows how to handle customers, possible organization partners, or just clients in general; knowledge of basic administrative tasks, note-taking, organization, e-mail correspondence.Skills: a persuasive, succinct writer; can make a judgement call on whether the current marketing strategy or press release is effective. Abilities: able to assist in securing donations or researching possible sponsors; can use the Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, powerpoint, etc.); is comfortable navigating the internet, calling/meeting people to promote the organization; is able to get the message of the organization across clearly.
Other Characteristics: creative and outgoing; can work in a team and independently; self-motivated, takes initiative.
