At The Sankofa Center, we empower people to change lives and foster healthy behaviors to prevent, detect, and treat HIV/AIDS. We do this through utilizing traditional African dance and drama fused with health information to educate people of all ages in Ghana. We are committed to providing free counseling, rapid HIV/AIDS testing and connecting people with HIV/AIDS to local medical resources. We value equipping the next generation with tools to wipe out HIV/AIDS with a compassionate and open-minded ethos.
Our Impact:
Since 2004, we have educated 35,000 students about HIV prevention, 50,000 community members on HIV transmission, and have provided over 4,000 individuals with free rapid HIV testing with links to care.

Internship Program Description:
Fashion & Merchandising/ Product Promotion Internship: Under the direction of Executive Director and mandates from the Office Manager, you will learn various industry trends of the wholesale/retail industry with specific focus on the fair-trade, artisanal, and globally inspired focus.

Graphic Design Intern: This internship will be an opportunity to enhance graphic design skills and create a variety of promotional and informational materials such as pamphlets, catalogs, and email advertisements.

Marketing/Social Media Internship: This internship will require interns to work on different marketing and promotional campaigns through social media and telemarketing. He/she will directly work under the supervision of the director writing articles to promote Sankofa initiatives, contact media houses, create public service announcements, assist in event planning for the product lines as marketing strategy.

Research Internship: This internship will involve researching and contacting sponsors, schools, retail partners, and prospective friends of The Sankofa Center and also keeping accurate records of your work.

Sales and Operation Management Internship: This internship will involve recruiting and management of interns, contribute in product management and promotion, and manage online store with general office work.

Web Developer Internship: This internship will require building and maintaining of the organization’s official website with technical support.

Photography and Multimedia: This will provide a great opportunity for the photography interns to practice their skills in photographing products keeping the aesthetic in mind.
