Writing, Graphic Design, and Video Editing Internships Available in LA

Description:

We’re an LA-based transmedia entertainment company founded by television/publishing industry vets that is looking to bring on creative, energetic, organized interns to help us create content for a new, top-secret project. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a brand new paradigm in entertainment and receive valuable mentorship from experienced entertainment professionals.

There are three internship training categories available: Junior Writers, Graphic Designers, and Video Editors. See each description below. If you have relevant experience you can apply for consideration in more than one area.

JUNIOR WRITERS:

Learn necessary skills for working on a TV staff, or at a magazine, writing and editing, while honing your own creative voice. If you’re passionate about writing – in any form – TV or screenwriting, fiction, blogging, but especially comedy writing, this internship will teach you what it’s like to work as part of a team of established professionals from multiple areas of entertainment.

The ideal candidates for our program are pop culturally aware, savvy in social media, self-expression and have some awareness of writing feature stories and press releases. Top-notch grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills are a must as well as the ability to craft messages succinctly, humorously, and effectively depending on the desired tone and audience.

Must have your own laptop and reliable transportation to our offices in Hollywood and Studio City; we’re open Monday through Friday 10am-6pm. We are flexible with scheduling but students in the greater L.A. area should be available to come into the office 2-3 days per week for at least six weeks or more beginning in August or September.

A modest monthly stipend will be paid and we will work with your college/university to ensure you get credit for this internship. Note: this internship is only open to students attending an accredited college/university who can receive academic credit for participating.

We will also offer weekly mentor meetings to make sure this experience is as educational as it is productive. We offer a friendly business-casual atmosphere with plenty of snacks, drinks and amazing locations for maximum creativity and productivity.

GRAPHIC DESIGNERS:

Work alongside established digital artists and designers and learn how the professionals create, edit and distribute digital artwork for social media sharing, websites, video content and more. Gain the real-world design experience you need to succeed in fast-paced and creative digital arts industries.

Requirements:
-This is an internship for students attending an accredited college or university who can receive academic credit.
- Must have a keen eye for design, and a sincere interest in pursuing a career in graphic design, new media, or entertainment.
- Must have your own computer with Photoshop and/or Illustrator and be comfortable using them. InDesign is also a plus.
-A portfolio showcasing previous design work – school projects are acceptable but we’re looking for candidates who are not only proficient in design software but are also creative and artistic.
-Ability to work quickly with minimal supervision.
-Applicants must be in greater Los Angeles area beginning in August 2014

Extra bonus points if you have:

- Firsthand experience designing materials for social media or PR for a company/organization or just for your own personal endeavors.

VIDEO EDITORS

If you’re passionate about film and video editing and have experience making your own videos or movies, this internship is for you.
We’ll teach you a lot about what it takes to shape a successful product, and you’ll work alongside and learn from Golden Globe winning and Emmy nominated writer producers.

The ideal candidates for our program are proficient in Final Cut Pro and have experience logging footage, organizing tracks, naming, and organizing bins.

Requirements:
-This is an internship for students attending an accredited college or university who can receive academic credit.
- Must have your own laptop with Final Cut Pro 7 and be comfortable using it. Experience with After Effects, or other FX programs is a plus, but not required.
-Please provide a link to work you’ve created or edited.
-Ability to work quickly and have a stylish eye where your work is concerned.
