Architecture for Humanity is looking for an enthusiastic team member to support its development activities. The Development Volunteer will have the opportunity to help the organization build its grant-seeking and fundraising capability, as well as assist in other research and administrative tasks. The internship will provide an opportunity to learn about our efforts in humanitarian design, disaster reconstruction, active and education spaces, and community resilience, while contributing to the organization’s overall growth.Responsibilities
- Research grant, partnership, and other funding opportunities
- Identify events and speaking opportunities for staff
- Assist with data entry and information management in Salesforce database
- Track donations and acknowledge donors
- Provide administrative support, including calendaring and coordinating travel logistics
- Provide event coordination support by working and negotiating with vendors
- Work with a diverse team of passionate individuals
- Attend occasional “Lunch & Learn” sessions
- Contribute to other areas where needed
- Represent the best interests of Architecture for Humanity
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Must be a self starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Experience in grant research, basic quantitative and qualitative research skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience in Salesforce or other CRM, a plus
- Experience and/or interest in international development, humanitarian design, and/or non-profits
