You will gain firsthand experience with:
• How a District and Capital Legislative office operates to represent constituents in the district.
• Assisting staff with planning and execution of community outreach events and special projects.
Other responsibilities include: preparing reports, assisting with community outreach efforts, database and web page maintenance, researching specific issues and compiling information to respond to constituent inquiries, handling incoming mail and data entry, and performing general office duties.
Part-time and full-time internships are available throughout the year. This is a non-paid position. However, we have found that most colleges and universities offer credits for internships. We are happy to work with your school to make sure you get internship credit, if offered by your college or university.
