Are you an Spanish speaking student with an interest in architecture, structural/civil engineering, landscape architecture, environmental design, or urban planning? Are you proficient in reading and writing in English? If so, The Global Grid wants to hear from you.

The Global Grid is striving to bring foreign language environmental design news to its English speaking audience. As cities and towns continue to expand and grow, social and environmental issues such as sustainability, crime prevention, beautification, and access to healthcare become more important. We want to know how environmental design is impacting Spanish speaking cities.

We are seeking qualified applicants for Spanish Language Translator & Content Coordinator Internships. As an Spanish Language Translator & Content Coordinator you will have the opportunity to find local Spanish news articles related to the fields of architecture, structural/civil engineering, landscape architecture, urban planning, etc., and translate these articles to English for our audience. You will gain valuable experience and skills, and we make all of our internships available for academic credit.

This is a virtual internship, and although you donít have to commute to our office, we still expect professionalism and commitment from you. We are looking for the best of the best. If you are creative, energetic, and eager to learn, and can commit to at least a six month internship; we want to hear from you!

What to expect during your internship with The Global Grid?

You can expect to gain experience in a variety of areas including translation, editing, and how to use WordPress.

Increased knowledge and exposure to translation and editing career opportunities;

Ability to utilize WordPress blogging software with increased knowledge of functionality and features;

Experience editing blogs according to formatting instructions;

Discover the purposes behind formatting blogs and their marketing advantages;

Learn how Twitter is used for marketing blogs.

Qualifications:

6 month or 1 year commitment, contractually;

Excellent Spanish to English translation and writing skills;

Superb Internet research skills;

Uninterrupted Internet and computer access, must check email daily;

Ability to submit a minimum of 2 high quality translated articles per week for publishing;

Independent self-starter;

Superior time management skills;

Ability to work remotely;

Previous experience as a writer for a blog is a plus;

Interest in environmental design is a plus.



Additional Info:
This is an unpaid and virtual internship that can be completed from home. While we cannot guarantee opportunities for paid employment, interns will always gain first preference in our hiring processes.
