Nourish the Planet, L3C (NTP) is seeking a Water Quality intern to do water quality tests for our aquaponic systems. Interns would be working with Nourish the Planet’s aquaponics project. NTP was founded with the vision to research, develop, and bring to market innovative aquaponics technologies which improve upon previous methods of intensive aquaculture (fish farming). Aquaponics is the integration of aquaculture (in particular, freshwater finfish farming) and hydroponics, by which nutrient-rich fish wastewater is simultaneously fertilizing hydroponic gardens and being cleansed by the plants.

A Water Quality intern would be:
* Responsible for water quality measurements, recordings, and analysis
* Collecting greenhouse data
* Monitoring the plant and fish health within our aquaponic modules
* Contribute to grant and scientific proposal writings
* Interact with a diverse group of interns and professionals with backgrounds ranging in biology, chemistry, and sustainable design
* Develop background knowledge in sustainable food production practices related to aquaponics

•Knowledgeable about water quality and chemistry
•Some lab experience
•Passionate about sustainability as it relates to agriculture and food production
•Must be able to commute to the south Loveland at least 2 days a week for a semester (12-15 weeks)
•A conscious-minded individual who is goal-oriented, diligent, and highly organized.
•Must be motivated, responsible and capable of learning/achieving tasks as a team and able to work independently.
•Ideal candidates are interested in building a career in sustainable development, botany, hydroponics, or other forms of horticulture.
