For-Credit Journalism Intern: Fall 2012

The North Haven Citizen, a weekly newspaper in North Haven, seeks Fall-semester journalism interns from area colleges.

This internship will offer college students opportunity to cover a wide range of stories, such as municipal government, cops, features, business and/or sports. Interns will write 1-2 stories per week, on deadline, allowing them to build up real-world experience for their professional future.

The Citizen is distributed to North Haven homes and businesses every Friday, and covers all things North Haven, plus major Connecticut stories. The Citizen is one of several weeklies owned by the Record-Journal, a daily newspaper based in Meriden.

Qualifications:

Applicants should be working toward a Bachelors degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing and/or Communications. Applicants should be capable of taking their own photos for stories. Interns must drive to cover stories, but the writing can take place wherever (stories can be emailed in).

This is intended as a for-credit internship. As such, applicants should apply through their colleges internship program.
