Fall Student Internship: Real Estate Administrative (Academic Credit)

New York Habitat (http://www.nyhabitat.com), a successful International Real Estate & Travel Agency specialized in the Furnished Rental, Bed & Breakfast and Vacation Rental markets in New York, Paris, London and the South of France, is looking for a highly motivated and positive individual to participate in the Real Estate Paralegal Program.
New York Habitat offers our interns a well-designed training program where they will learn the ins and outs of international real estate. We encourage our interns to share their ideas through reports at the end of each week in order to develop new projects with the company.
Paralegal Department
Acquire basic knowledge of New York Real Estate laws.
Learn about Real Estate by assisting the department that oversees building issues, leases, condominium and co-op rules and regulations.
Learn how to research and verify official documentation such as Deeds, Leases, and Certificates of Incorporation etc for the listing approval process on HPD and ACRIS
Develop techniques to connect with listing owners in order to explain the companys need for compliance
Learn how to manage the calendar of the listing agents and plan the visits for our New York apartments.
Enhance communications skills by learning how to communicate with both new and current apartment owners in order to obtain the most up to date legal paperwork and ensure the maximum amount of listings on our database.

Qualifications:

Your profile:
You are a current student with a major in business or real estate.
You are detail-oriented
You have excellent English writing and communication skills.
You are dependable, punctual, and dedicated to doing your assigned work.
Ability to speak another language is a big plus
You are available a minimum 3 months 15h/week

About your Internship at New York Habitat:

We are interested in sharing our expertise with motivated individuals looking to learn more about business development and account management.
During this experience, you will have the opportunity to contribute your ideas toward handling the challenges of developing new international accounts and fostering relationships with current ones.
You will also develop your communication skills and will become more efficient with customer relationships and excel in your work organization and time management.
As an added bonus, you will benefit from the experience of working in an International environment and will be exposed to different languages (Spanish, English, Italian, German and French).

At New York Habitat, you will:

• Learn how to Support manager with day-to-day activities.
• Discover ways to develop and maintain relationships with clients, owners, and schools.
• Understand how to follow up relationships with NY Habitat customers.
• Train to maintain database of clients.
• Participate and understand market trends and customer needs.
• Be able to use your analytic skills to review data, and research client demographics such as: schools, corporations, and owners.
• Develop proficient phone skills.


Your profile:
• You are able to start within the next 2 months.
• You are available a minimum of 3 months, 20 to 25h/week.
• You are curious and want to learn new things.
• You have exceptional English communication skills!
• You have superb time management skills.
• You have a strong ability to work well under pressure.
• Proficiency in French is a plus (not require)
• You have patience and perseverance.
• You have the capability to adapt a myriad of situations in a fast pace multi-cultural environment.
