Interested in spending fall semester in Washington, DC? The Save Darfur Coalition is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated full-time or part-time interns for the fall of 2010. Interns will work closely with the Coalitions staff to fulfill both administrative and programmatic duties in our office in Washington DC.

Policy intern’s responsibilities will include:
• Monitoring coverage of Sudan in both domestic and international media
• Blogging on the Coalition’s website about events on the ground in Sudan and US/International policy
• Drafting and editing internal and public documents about the coalition’s work or position on particular issues / policies.
• Drafting email updates for activists
• Researching particular issues, policies, etc. relating to the coalitions work.

Internships are unpaid, but students may receive college credit, if applicable.

Qualifications:

Intern qualifications:
• Passion for ending the mass atrocities in Darfur and bringing peace to Sudan;
• Ability to work independently;
• Strong organizational and time management skills;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
• Excellent research and writing skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally within a diverse community;
• Background knowledge in public policy, political science, international relations, human rights, or African or Middle Eastern studies
• Arabic or French language skills are a plus
