Want to spend fall semester in Washington DC? The Save Darfur Coalition is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated full-time or part-time interns for the fall of 2010. Interns will work closely with the Coalitions staff to fulfill both administrative and programmatic duties in our office in Washington DC.

Communications intern responsibilities will include:
• Compiling and sending out daily news about Darfur and Sudan
• Tracking and monitoring media hits surrounding Save Darfur initiatives
• Building and maintaining media lists for outreach
• Drafting press releases/media advisories
• Assisting with communications projects as directed by the communications manager

Internships are unpaid, but students may receive college credit, if applicable.

Qualifications:

Intern qualifications:
• Passion for ending the mass atrocities in Darfur and bringing peace to Sudan;
• Background in communications, media relations, or public policy;
• Ability to work independently;
• Strong organizational and time management skills;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
• Strong research and writing skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally within a diverse community;
