About 3P Human Security:
3P Human Security is a civil society voice on U.S. policy. It creates opportunities for the perspective and analysis of local civil society-based peacebuilders overseas to inform key policy-shaping conversations in Washington. Summary:
3P is seeking a part-time Program Assistant for Fall 2012 to help coordinate meetings, plan events, research issues related to human security and U.S. policy, write, manage online communications, and provide general staff support on a range of projects. The ideal candidate will be a motivated learner who can contribute pro-actively to the substance of 3P’s work, provide reliability as a backstop for staff, and bring positive energy to 3P/AfP’s team. Internship (20-25 hours / week) is unpaid and will accommodate a flexible schedule. Internship will run from mid-September through December in Washington, DC. Priority will be given to applicants who can stay on through the end of the academic year in May, 2013.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field ● Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments ● Resilience to adjust to changing program needs in a fast-paced environment ● Ability to absorb a lot of new information and think strategically according to program goals ● Strong writing skills ● International experience preferred ● Strong online research and computer skills ● ICT skills a plus ● Demonstrated commitment to peacebuilding values ● Motivation, patience, and optimism.
