Development Internship (Unpaid Internship)

Passionate about solving climate change and advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency? Join EESI as a development intern. Youll research potential funders, help develop proposals, and work toward obtaining the funding needed to transition to a clean energy economy. Potential Intern Activities
• Research and summarize issues related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change, transportation, buildings, biomass and other energy and environmental topics for use in EESI proposals.
• Research and summarize potential funding sources (foundations, corporations, individuals, public sources)
• Help craft and edit funding proposals to advance EESIs financial sustainability and work on climate change, renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable transportation and communities, and related topics.
• Help design proposals and marketing materials
• Explore creative ways to increase EESIs visibility
• Work with staff on ways to further engage EESIs Board of Directors, Board of Advisors and major donors to increase EESIs ability to make an impact
• Represent EESI at donor events
• Data entry and other administrative duties as needed
• Other responsibilities as they develop, based on intern interest areas and organization needs
Qualifications:
Intern Qualifications
• Upperclassmen pursuing a bachelors degree, recent graduates or students pursuing a masters degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, politics, nonprofit management, public affairs, environmental studies, or a related field
• Interest, experience, and/or academic coursework in environmental and energy issues, with particular enthusiasm for the communication of pertinent information to funders and potential funders
• Graphic design and layout skills a strong plus
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills
• Self-starter, flexible and able to manage multiple tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with database software (especially Salesforce) and web software a plus
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team or independently as needed
• Creativity and openness to expressing new ideas and capacity to produce questions that will further EESI’s mission
