Transcend Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated and brilliant Creative Editor Intern to be part of the Creative team in our Foggy Bottom office to ensure the highest level of quality, accuracy and efficiency in the design and production of our promotions.

WHO: Transcend Academy is a fast growing education company that provides SAT prep and admissions help. We’ve recently launched in DC, MD, VA and are building a dynamic team through our Semester-long Professional Internship Program for college and exceptional high school students. We are looking for candidates with high levels of energy and commitment along with a strong desire to be part of the building process.

WHAT: The Creative Editor Intern at Transcend will work in a fast-paced and challenging environment where you will be responsible for creative writing, graphic design and production. You will be responsible for ensuring that all content is engaging, compelling and written in our voice. You will coordinate with product managers and media partners and work closely with our sales, traffic and development teams to ensure the highest level of success in promoting our offers through our Transcend Academy branded sites and retail channels. We need driven, creative, and intelligent students.

Responsibilities include:
- Provide direction for the writing of colorful, persuasive copy and design of graphics that will appear in our offers and across multiple platforms including social media networks, publisher portals, mobile applications and other media
- Coordinate with sales, traffic and development teams to ensure the accuracy and success of our offers
- Review and edit the copy and graphics describing our offers across our local market
- Analyze data and provide recommendations to optimize effectiveness of promotions
- Ensure that promotions are completed in accordance with established deadlines
- Develop and maintain Transcend Academy style guides
- Provide effective entries for the Transcend Academy blog and other social media sites
- Coordinate with marketing team to develop and design cost-effective cross-media promotion campaigns
As with any role in a small and fast-growing company, you will be asked to take on additional responsibilities as needed. Candidates should be flexible and capable of adapting quickly and succeeding in an ever-changing environment.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:
- College student in Marketing, Communications or English
- Strong interest in marketing, advertising, PR or journalism field
- Editing experience (online preferred)
- Graphic design experience (Photoshop experience required)

- Firm understanding of the psychology of consumer marketing and optimization of cross media promotional campaigns
- Experience with AP stylebook
- Familiarity with the creation of compelling copy and design required
- Extreme attention to detail
- A deadline-driven mentality
- Ability to motivate other team members to excellence
- A knowledge of web-writing best practices
- Stellar multi-tasking skills
- A great deal of flexibility (not the touch your toes kind)
