Do you love to play with website design? We are looking for a talented and self-motivated UI/UX Designer to join our fast pace environment. This is an internship position at our Foggy Bottom location.

WHO: Transcend Academy is a fast growing education company that provides SAT prep and admissions help. We’ve recently launched in DC, MD, VA and are building a dynamic team through our Semester-long Professional Internship Program for college and exceptional high school students. We are looking for candidates with high levels of energy and commitment along with a strong desire to be part of the building process.

WHAT: The UI/UX design intern at Transcend will work in a fast-paced challenging environment. Past interns have helped refine our web platform to accurately reflect our services.

Responsibilities:
• Identify and determine solutions for web and mobile UI/UX design problems
• Collaborate with product managers to refine concepts and ensure designs conform to our branding guidelines and standards
• Create sketches, wireframes, and mockups based on specifications and product requirements
• Present design concepts and solutions to team members
• Build prototypes and templates with HTML/CSS

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
• Killer Portfolio (We will only consider candidates with an online portfolio)
• Exceptional understanding of fundamental visual design and UX principles
• Outstanding communication skills and an ability to explain your design decisions
• Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS and web standards
• 1+ years experience in a related field
• College student in design-related discipline
 
Bonus Points:
• Bonus points for past entrepreneurial experience and/or if you have your own personal web/mobile projects.
• Extra bonus points for coding skills, especially with jQuery and Python/Django.
