Description:

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic interns who will be working as a part of our global team and helping us spread the word in changing the way the news media industry works. You will not be “making copies” and “fetching coffee” - our interns will help us bring on board, coordinate and communicate with journalists and media companies worldwide.

Details:
This is an unpaid internship. Our interns work for 15 – 20 hours a week, either remotely or in the office (we work out of Washington DC and Dulles VA). We are looking for current graduate and undergraduate students in the field of mass media/journalism, who want to learn and develop their skills.

Internship begins August 6, 2012 through December 21, 2012, with the opportunity to continue for longer. August is the evaluation period for this internship.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

Great Written and oral communication skills.
Active in online social networking sites and the blogosphere.
Ability to be self-motivated and to deliver your assignments on time.
Ability to curate video and photo with an understanding of what makes it good.
Understanding of Journalistic principles and what makes a great story.

Preferred Skills:
Video shooting, editing and production experience is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of adobe creative suite, final cut, and sound editing software is highly preferred.
