Do some real world writing, beef up your clips, hone and develop your personal voice, and add experiential shine to your resume with an internship at the Tampa Bay areas veteran (celebrating 25 years in 2013) alt weekly, Creative Loafing. Our Tampa paper seeks wannabe writers/editors seeking school credit to join the team this Winter/Spring semester. Openings are available in News & Politics, Sex & Love, Arts & Entertainment, Music, Film, and Food & Drink, with beat crossover/overlap encouraged but not required; photo internships are also available. Possible tasks include assisting with A&E, Music and Dining listings, both in print and in our online database; performing miscellaneous research and fact-checking duties; producing short advance write-ups of events occurring in and around town; becoming an active contributor on CLs Daily Loaf blog, and posting anything from reviews or post-ops of the aforementioned events to sports commentary to recipes to concert announcements to political reporting and whatever else might be relevant and encourage lively dialogue with the local community; and even writing a full-length feature story - or stories depending on how driven you are - as well as participating in producing content for special issues. We cant pay you but perks include tickets to films, concerts and shows with big-name headliners, and various other goodies. Self-motivated people with online networking and blogging experience a plus.

Qualifications:

This is an unpaid internship for school credit and must be processed through the students intern program at his or her university. Some writing experience required.
