Feeding Children Everywhere (recently featured in TIME Magazine; click link to read the article http://ti.me/QCxeOQ.) is a nonprofit organization that empowers and mobilizes people to assemble healthy meals for hungry children. We are motivated by the 950 million people worldwide and 16 million people in the Unites States that are currently at risk of going hungry each dayOur Operations Interns work directly with our shipping and warehouse managers to ensure that inventory (down to the last bag of rice) is ready for each and every one of our events. Whether it’s preparing for a 10 thousand meal event or a 2 million meal event, this position is event focused and gives opportunity to lead teams of volunteers while monitoring and managing inventory and product levels. This specific role does require some heavy lifting (ie. 50-100 Ib bags of lentils & rice) and travel (as they will help lead events that take place all over the state of FL). Operations interns will be exposed to the ins and outs of event logistics, inventory management, shipping & distribution management, and more.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to-Pre and Post Event Preparation—which includes loading/unloading box trucks with product
-Warehouse/Inventory Management—maintaining an organized warehouse environment
-Packaging and Shipping Merchandise
-Organizing and Counting Inventory
-Volunteer Management—leading and training teams of volunteers at events to complete multiple tasks including (but not limited to) loading and unloading product, re-filing and re-stocking product, and creating assembly line efficiency.
-Traveling to and Leading our Meal Packing Events—all traveling expenses/meals are organized and covered by Feeding Children Everywhere
Qualifications:
All interns are expected to work a minimum of 15-20 hours a week, and are required to commit to a full semester. Interns must have reliable transportation to our offices (located by the Orlando area at 830 S. Ronald Reagan Blvd Longwood, Fl 32750). Above all, interns should be prepared to join an incredible team who is determined to put an end to world hunger, all while having a blast!Minimum Qualifications
