One of our private school food service clients is currently seeking an intern of Hospitality/Food Prep/Server Person in Food Service.

Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. Must be energetic, motivated, personable, able to work well with others as a team member and able to follow instructions. Additionally, candidates must be reliable, on-time and have a good work ethic.

Qualifications:

Job Duties and Summary:
• Responsible for small and large in-house catering setups including: attractively setting up all carts with food and beverages, clean silverware, plates, glasses, linens and service wares. Attention to detail on all levels is an important component of this job.
• Responsible for the food prep and attractive presentation of foods and beverages for small events – including sandwiches, salads, dessert trays, etc.
• Assists with the preparation and attractive presentation of foods and beverages for large events
• Responsible for the internal delivery of carts and nicely setting up rooms with buffet foods and beverages when required. Breaks down and cleans up from small and large events as needed.
• Assists with the prep and service of salads and desserts, as directed by the Food Service Manager.
• Assist with the serving of lunch and maintaining a clean and attractive hot food station from 11:00 – 2:00.
• Maintains the hot beverage stations throughout the day, replenishing beverages, china and paper service, tea bags, sweeteners, cream and other accompaniments.
• Cleaning Duties: Maintains a sanitary work station(s) on an ongoing basis during food preparation periods. Breaks down, cleans and sanitizes the servery and beverage stations. Collects and cleans up serving carts from lunch and/or special events. Cleans and sanitizes serving carts. Other kitchen related duties as directed by the Food Service Manager.

Qualifications:
• Training and at least 1 year of experience in food prep and service in a similar setting.
• High School Diploma preferred
• Strong communication skills a must
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Additionally some knowledge of Spanish is a plus
• Knowledge of common food allergies and gluten-free diet a plus
• A flair for food presentation a must
• Clean and professional appearance
• Must include references

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
