Description:

Phil® is a donation service that connects local nonprofit organizations with local businesses in order to provide funding to community members in need. We are looking for motivated public relations interns with experience in brand planning, campaign management, press release writing, fundraising, and promotions. The internship can be tailored to each student’s experience and goals and may include such duties as:

-assembling and distributing press kits
-researching, writing, and distributing press releases to targeted media
-writing blog posts
-serving as a liaison between Phil and non-profit partners
-planning, developing and implementing PR strategies
-writing and editing in-house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles, and annual reports
-preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes
-maintaining and updating information on the organisation’s website
-sourcing and managing speaking and sponsorship opportunities
-preparing and/or editing organizational publications for internal and external audiences
-conferring with production and support personnel to produce or coordinate production of advertisements and promotions
-arranging public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits for clients to increase service awareness and to promote goodwill
-studying the objectives, promotional policies, and needs of organizations to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products, and services
-identifying and developing contacts for promotional campaigns and industry programs that meet identified buyer targets such as dealers, distributors, or consumers
-assisting with routine office work

-Part-time (15hrs/week) PR internship available summer semester.

Desired start date for this part-time summer internship is May 15, 2012. In most cases, course credit can be earned. Future career growth possible.
