Asta Publications is seeking highly organized, enthusiastic, independent, reliable, detailed oriented graphic design interns to work in its design team. The Design Intern will design book covers and interiors for fiction and non-fiction books between 20- 400 pages. Training in design and formatting will be offered. A design credit will be provided. Work is done primarily from your home through e-mail communications, Work is done primarily from your home through e-mail communications, meetings are conducted virtually. Intern must have access to the Internet and computer. Candidates should have a passion for design.

Work is done primarily done virtually through e-mail communications and meetings are held virtually. Intern must have access to and the ability to use Word, Excel, the Internet, CS 5 or CS 5.5, other relevant programs.

Qualifications:

Intern will be responsible for designing book covers, typeset books, create marketing materials, and work with illustrations and stock images.

Familiar with InDesign, Photoshop, Word, Excel, and other relevant programs. You should also be familiar with book formatting and design conventions. Intern must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week. Publisher will provide training.
