Description:

The Young Women’s International Institute requires a dedicated and passionate Human Resources intern to assist with the recruitment, training and management of the Global Skills Program team in Dharamshala, India. The Global Skills Program is a residential program designed to provide young Indian women with essential life and vocational skills. The course is run by a team of Indian and international staff and interns and the HR intern will be required to work on local and international recruitment campaigns, manage the administration of staff / intern resources, develop training and HR manuals / guides, and organise internal professional development programs.

Specific tasks include promoting job/intern opportunities within India and online, visa registrations, transfers, contract negotiation and administration, job classification, performance evaluation, leave administration and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organisation. Developing HR management systems will be a key component of the role.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have completed at least 2 years of further education in the field of Human Resources, Public Relations, Administration Management or a related field. Previous professional experience and post-graduate studies in HR systems and management is preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
• Excellent problem solving and lateral thinking ability
• Familiarity with HR Legislation, Industry Awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements
• High level of initiative in terms of employee relations and capacity to work within an established HR plan
• Ability to provide or undertake recruitment support and statistical analysis on HR related issues
• Ability to work in a multicultural/diverse environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and to work as part of a team
• Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Intermediate IT skills including Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated group leadership and organizational skills
• Willingness to accept feedback and supervision
