Description:

The candidate will work in the Financial Services Asset Management Tax practice which assists clients in the areas of Investment and Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds and Private Equity. Will be responsible for securing and analyzing client tax data used in the preparation and/or review of tax compliance products in addition to providing clients with tax guidance and planning. Responsibilities: Interface with clients and team members to secure tax data. Collect/convert tax compliance data into an electronic format. Formulate a plan to gather/communicate information to the client and complete accurate compliance products. Prepares and maintains accurate, well organized workpapers. Performs quality review of product. Research complex tax theory and positions, and apply them to specific client needs. Exercise a high degree of independent judgment and discretion in providing tax services. Identifies and documents tax technical and engagement issues and risks. Demonstrates solid working knowledge of Tax tools and technology. Discusses engagement with internal and external sources to gain thorough knowledge of the client. Prepares budgets, workplans and other planning documents. Develops an understanding of engagement economics to become aware of how decisions impact profitability. Stays abreast of current business and economic development relevant to the clients business. Qualification and Experience The candidate should have a Bachelors degree and 2+ years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience. Experience in a professional services environment preferred. A CPA and/or LL.M. certification required. Should have broad exposure to federal income taxation. Should have excellent supervisory, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills. PC proficiency is required.
