Student Intern- Volunteer Engagement Intern
Description:
Position Purpose: The intern will work directly with: the Director of Volunteer Services to coordinate volunteer engagements (“Days of Caring”) that our corporate partners will engage in throughout the non-profit community. In this role, an intern will gain invaluable experience working with both the corporate and the non-profit community.
Qualifications:
Principle Responsibilities: Daily responsibilities may include:• Outreach to corporate contacts to understand their volunteer engagement requests
• Communications with non-profit partners regarding their volunteer engagement needs
• Proposals to companies interested in volunteerism
• Finalizing all details and confirming to all partiesMinimum Qualifications:
• College student or recent graduate preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, delegate and work independently.
• Experience working with computerized databases.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Sense of humor in the workplace is appreciated.Behavioral Expectations:
• Represents United Way positively, professionally, courteously and effectively.
• Assists or takes on new tasks to help United Way achieve its mission.
• Integrates United Way’s business strategies by building positive internal and external relationships.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding personnel and organizational information.
•Adheres to the Values and the United Way Code of Ethics at all times.Required hours are 15-20 per week.
Please note that this is a learning experience and the student intern is not replacing a regular staff position. Both United Way and the student understand that no wages will be given for the internship period.
