Student Internship - Community Building
Description:
Position Purpose: to assist the department in community building/engaging activities as directed by the Director of Community EngagementPrinciple Responsibilities:
• attend all meetings related to community building/engagement where applicable
• assist in the scheduling, organizing and development of community conversations
• assist in the learning launch activities/planning where appropriate
• coordinate with MIKVA Challenge where appropriate for youth related activities, community meetings, and community planning
Behavioral Expectations:
• Represents United Way positively, professionally, courteously and effectively.
• Assists or takes on new tasks to help United Way achieve its mission.
• Integrates United Way’s business strategies by building positive internal and external relationships.
• Maintains strict confidentiality regarding personnel and organizational information.
• Adheres to the Values and the United Way Code of Ethics at all times.Required hours are approximately 20 per week, for the approximate period of August/September 2012 through October 2012.
Please note that this is a learning experience and the intern is not replacing a regular staff position. Both United Way and the intern understand that no wages will be given for the internship period.
