Internship Description:

This is an unpaid internship. The term of the internship should be one academic quarter or semester and at least 10 hours per week. The organization is seeking to keep the internship position filled year round; candidates interested in interning for future quarters should contact the organization. The specific duties and projects for the internship will be customized for the candidate.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have an interest in human resources in a non-profit environment. Candidate should have completed at least two to three courses in business or human resources. Candidate should have strong oral and written communication skills. This internship will require a self-directed, detailed oriented, individual who has the ability to work with staff and students from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds and must be committed to working for the good of disadvantaged youth. Candidate will have the ability to maintain a positive, professional and supportive attitude. A strong aptitude with computers is required. Candidate must be committed to the continuous improvement of service quality and the organization’s mission. Candidate must function well in group and team settings. Candidate must be flexible and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Hours:

Office is open from 9am to 5pm

Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates will be required to assist with human resources administration, contract audits and benefit administration. Candidates may assist with staff development, award projects, office operations, and other duties as assigned. Candidates will participate in agency trainings and staff development, as applicable. Candidates will participate in Team Meetings, Committee Meetings, and All Staff Meetings, as applicable

This internship will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to develop and improve their human resources/employee services skills.
