Provide support to the Technical Manager of Museum Storytelling by assisting with setting up, maintaining and creating elements for various events and exhibits
Reporting Department
Visitor Experience Department/Exhibits

Technical Manager of Museum Storytelling/ Exhibits Manager
Length of Appointment
12-16 weeks. This is flexible based upon the student’s schedule
Time Commitment
15-20 hrs per week. This is also flexible based upon schedules
Salary
Stipend upon completion of internship and school credit if applicable
Essential duties and responsibilities
The Exhibit and Experience Tech Intern will be immersed in the behind the scenes work involved in exhibitions (development, installation and maintenance) and programs and event technology at Minnetrista. The intern will also provide support and work in the woodshop when needed to complete tasks. Weekly exhibit maintenance checks (lights bulbs, inter-activities, etc.) And other duties may be assigned. An overall project involving woodshop management, exhibits management, element creation, or materials and processes will be provided based on intern interest.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have an interest in visitor experience creation, museum studies, technical theatre, and /or project management. Candidate must be organized and creative, able to work well with others, and willingness to learn new skills. Candidate must be able to lift 20 lbs+, possess a willingness to use basic tools, and be adaptable to new and changing situations. Candidate MUST be 18 years or older. Previous woodshop experience not required.
